Police: Man Faces DUI Charge After Running Stop Sign On Compo Beach Road

A Milford man was arrested for driving drunk after allegedly running a stop sign.

Lawrence Wydan, 22, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 15, 2018, after a Westport police officer observed his vehicle drive through the stop sign at Compo Beach Road and South Compo, said Lt. Jillian Cabana.

When the officer stopped the vehicle, Wydan appeared to be under the influence and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside his vehicle, police said.

Wydan was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed.

He was arrested and charged with DUI and was released on a promise to appear ticket.
